I have to admit that the first time that I ever heard of The Flat Earth Society, I assumed it was a joke. It sounded like a Monty Python-type comedy troupe or a rock band (indeed there is a band called the Flat Earth Society). I mostly just assumed it was a place where scientists could go to tell science jokes. I mean, how in the world could this be a REAL thing? I then found that, indeed, there are people that seem to believe that the earth is really flat. I guess these people have hardly stepped out of their house and they CERTAINLY never flew on a plane when it was clear.
Anyway, I decided I would become the one and only member of the Flatter Earth Society, because I happen to like the Earth and I think it needs to know that once in a while.
